Escuelas de Rock launched the 11th edition of its Rockódromo music and arts festival last night (Feb. 4) with the now traditional «Night of the balconies» concert at Plaza Aníbal Pinto in the hub of Valparaíso’s nighttime party scene.
The event, to be held Feb. 4 to 8, features concerts, art exhibits, book launchings and seminars at five venues: Plaza Aníbal Pinto, Centro Cultural Trafón, La Sebastiana, Centex and Plaza Sotomayor. All activities are free of charge.
Some 38 artists, bands and writers are expected to take part at the festival, including Weichafe, Sinergia, Sol y Lluvia, Álvaro Lopez (former vocalist of Los Bunkers), and Festival de Viña del Mar award-winning singer-songwriter Fernando Ubiergo who performed at last night’s event. Artists from Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Haiti have also been invited.
Escuelas de Rock is a Government of Chile National Culture and Arts Council program.
